Miscreants allegedly vandalised the coffee plantation of a BJP leader in Tuppur village near Hiregadde, Koppa taluk, on Sunday, June 22.
More than 750 plants across 2 acres of land on the plantation, belonging to BJP leader Ajith Tuppur, were destroyed. Even the fully grown 10-year-old coffee plants, which were ready for harvest, were not spared.
The culprits reportedly chopped the plants at the base, causing huge losses. Having nurtured the plantation for a decade, the family of Ajith Tuppur is now in distress.
A case has been registered at Balehonnur police station in Chikkamagaluru district.
