More than 30 passengers sustained injuries when a government bus collided with a gas tanker near Maranahalli in Sakleshpur taluk.
Out of the total injured, 15 passengers have suffered serious injuries. Locals rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to hospitals in private vehicles.
The KSRTC bus (KA-40-F-1512) belonging to Chintamani depot was on its way from Chikkaballapur to Dharmasthala while the gas tanker was heading from Mangaluru towards Bengaluru.
Reportedly the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle during an overtake attempt and hit the tanker.
