SpaceX’s Starship megarocket finally took flight on Tuesday, after two scrubbed attempts in the past two days.

Starship 10th integrated test flight took off the launch pad at the company’s Starbase facility in southern Texas at 6:30 pm local time (2330 GMT).

The much-anticipated launch had faced repeated delays, with cloudy skies and lightning risks forcing postponements on Monday. Technical checks and weather conditions had stalled liftoff until the third attempt proved successful.

Space X also shared the update on ignition of it's Raptor engines during the critical hot-staging separation. “Starship’s Raptor engines ignite during hot-staging separation. Super Heavy is boosting back towards its splashdown site,” the company posted.

SpaceX was forced to delay the launch of its Starship rocket for the second consecutive day, after bad weather triggered a last-minute halt on Monday at its Starbase facility in southern Texas.

The megarocket was scheduled to lift off at 7.30 pm local time (0030 GMT) but was called off minutes before takeoff. “Standing down from today’s flight test attempt due to weather. Starship team is determining the next best available opportunity to fly,” the company posted on X.

Monday’s flight cancellation followed Sunday’s aborted attempt, which was halted just 15 minutes before liftoff after a ground-system leak disrupted fueling. At the time, SpaceX confirmed, “Standing down from today’s tenth flight of Starship to allow time to troubleshoot an issue with ground systems.”
