Multiple Pakistan drones flying over Khasa Cantt in Amritsar destroyed; Army releases video

NEW DELHI: Pakistan on Saturday continued aggressive military actions with drone strikes and other weaponry near western boundaries. The Army issued a statement regarding ' Operation Sindoor ' on Saturday morning saying that Pakistani drones spotted flying over Khasa Cantt in Amritsar were subsequently destroyed.

"Pakistan's blatant escalation with drone strikes and other munitions continues along our western borders. In one such incident, today at approximately 5 AM, Multiple enemy armed drones were spotted flying over Khasa Cantt, Amritsar. The hostile drones were instantly engaged and destroyed by our air defence units. Pakistan's blatant attempt to violate India's sovereignty and endanger civilians is unacceptable. Indian Army will thwart enemy designs," ADG PI of Indian Army wrote on X.

Residents of Jammu experienced loud explosions on Saturday morning, accompanied by city-wide sirens during suspected Pakistani drone incursions. Officials reported artillery and mortar fire in Rajouri, Poonch, and Jammu district's Akhnoor sector.

Substantial explosions disturbed Jammu and Udhampur at approximately 5am, with authorities verifying renewed drone attacks from across the border, causing widespread concern among residents.

Defence officials reported drone sightings at 26 locations on Friday night, spanning from Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir to Gujarat's Bhuj, along Pakistan's International Border and Line of Control (LoC).

The affected areas include various locations across J&K, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, specifically Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet and Lakhi Nala.

Significant cross-border artillery exchanges occurred along the LoC across different Jammu region sectors throughout the night. Officials confirmed artillery strikes on Rajouri, Poonch, Surankote and Nowshera towns.

The situation between both nations intensified after army conducted precise strikes on nine terror launch sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Wednesday to avenge April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in 26 casualties, primarily tourists.
