Gasol and his family have been a huge pillar of support for Vanessa Bryant and her daughters since Kobe Bryant’s untimely demise. He is also the godfather of Kobe and Vanessa’s elder daughter, Natalia Bryant.

Before Gasol, Vanessa also shared the photos on her Instagram. In one of the photographs, Los Angeles Lakers GM Rob Pelinka was also present. Vanessa captioned, “Halloween 2025 🎃🧡👻”

Pau Gasol’s bond continues beyond Kobe Bryant’s legacy

The friendship between Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant began when the two shared the court as teammates with the Lakers, winning back-to-back NBA championships in 2009 and 2010. That partnership grew into a brotherhood, and after Kobe’s death, Gasol stayed close to the Bryant family , often attending family milestones and spending holidays with them.

“Every step of the way, he’s on my mind, in my heart, along with Gigi,” Gasol once said of Kobe. “And he’s gong to be there forever. I grew as a player, I played at a higher level thanks to him in great part. His leadership, his example, his approach really elevated my game, made me a better player.

Gasol has made it clear that his bond with the Bryants is lifelong, often referring to them as “family.” His daughter, Elisabet Gianna Gasol , even carries the name of Kobe and Vanessa’s late daughter, Gianna, as a tribute.
