John Cena took the fans back to 2011 with a parody of CM Punk's infamous Pipebomb promo.
There is no denying that CM Punk ascended as a main event player in WWE after delivering his iconic Pipebomb promo at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on an episode of RAW in 2011. It came after he attacked John Cena and laid a verbal rant on the entire WWE. On this week's edition of SmackDown, the Unseen 17 turned back the clock and took everyone back to that infamous moment.
John Cena recreated CM Punk's Pipebomb promo as a parody on WWE SmackDownJohn Cena battled R-Truth in a heated showdown in the main event of this week's edition of WWE SmackDown, taking place in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Following some back-and-forth action, Cena attempted to leave with his Undisputed WWE title. Truth ran down to stop him, but The Cenation Leader nailed him with the belt to end the match in a disqualification.
This prompted the arrival of CM Punk, who began to brawl with Cena. However, The Champ overpowered him with a low-blow. He then hit Punk with the belt and delivered an AA to him on a table. Witnessing a similar scene, Cena got on the top rope and delivered a jaw-dropping scene.
Right from his first words, it was evident that John Cena was creating a parody of CM Punk's Pipebomb that was a major part of his rising success in 2011. He berated Punk in a similar manner to how he had done to Cena years ago, and said that he was not the best, but Cena was the Greatest of All Time. Furthermore, Cena broke the fourth wall, namedropped stars like Matt Cardona, Claudio Castagnoli, and Nic Nemeth, similar to how Punk dropped Colt Cabana's name.
After using CM Punk's greatest weapon against him, Cena exited the ring, not before thanking him for letting him use his own promo to make The Best in the World look even more foolish. With the Undisputed WWE Champion making a huge statement ahead of their final match at Night of Champions PLE, the last chapter of this iconic feud has just been taken to the next level.
