Jaipur: Vaibhav Suryavanshi ’s incredible century and the team’s subsequent win over Gujarat Titans on Monday has acted as a much-needed tonic for Rajasthan Royals . Arresting a four-match losing sequence, the Royals thrashed GT by eight wickets, but with just six points to their credit from 10 outings, all the four remaining matches will be must-win games for the Jaipur-based franchise, which only has a mathematical chance of making the playoffs.
The 14-year-old Suryavanshi lifted Royals’ spirits with a record-breaking century off just 35 balls to help his team register their first home win this season. Mumbai Indians , on the other hand, are on a five-match winning streak. The Hardik Pandya-led side did not have the ideal start to the season but they seem to have ironed out the chinks.

Samson yet to recover: Riyan
A side strain to regular skipper Sanju Samson on April 16 while playing against Delhi Capitals has not completely healed and will be most likely to miss yet another tie. “Sanju has just started knocking in the nets. He is recovering. We will analyse his fitness before deciding about including him in the playing XII,” said Riyan, adding: “We should have won three close matches (against DC, LSG and RCB). We played well for 35 overs but couldn’t finish it off.”
Boult looking forward to bowling at teen wonder
MI’s Trent Boult , for one, is looking forward to the challenge of bowling to RR’s new teen wonder. “I’ve bowled to some brilliant batsmen around the world, like Chris Gayles, AB de Villiers. I think I’ll be careful not to say I’m worried about a 14-year-old,” said Boult. The 35-year-old left-arm fast bowler, incidentally, represented RR till the last season. “It’s going to be an exciting challenge to come up against a guy who’s obviously fearless and running in hot form at the moment, so that’s what it’s about. The whole world saw that performance,” he said.
Likely XII:
RR: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag (captain), Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande, Sandeep Sharma
MI: Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Corbin Bosch, Ryan Rickelton, Hardik Pandya (captain), Naman Dhir, Will Jacks, Jasprit Bumrah, Karn Sharma, Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar
