Kolkata recently hosted a yogathon that merged traditional yoga with live sitar music, a first-of-its-kind experience in India. Organized by the Samartha Conscious Living Foundation and conceptualized byHarsha Banthia, this event at the Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium drew over a thousand participants, both in-person and virtually, from across the nation.
Under the theme "Breath. Move. Grow. We are open to new beginning," Yogathon 2025 aimed to foster a collective experience of healing and awareness. The inclusive event offered activities for all ages, including the signature Suryanamaskar Challenge (50, 108, or 150 rounds), expert-led sessions, and wellness booths.
Speaking on the occasion the spokesperson and a national yoga Acharya Harsha Banthia said, "Live sitar and yoga themed jamming sessions were highlights of the event and Kolkata has never witnessed this before. We are glad to come up with a concept through which we can motivate people to have a healthy lifestyle by making it interesting with live music too. With Yogathan 2025, we aim to take yoga to every household through Suryanamaskar."
