Bengaluru: Former secretary of the Karnataka State Cricket Association A Shankar, and ex-treasurer ES Jairam appeared on Saturday before Bengaluru Urban District Magistrate and deputy commissioner G Jagadish, who is probing the circumstances that culminated in the Bengaluru stadium stampede that claimed 11 lives on June 4. r
They gave statements connected to the stampede. As many as 11 cricket fans died during the stampede outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where RCB's IPL title victory was scheduled.
The magistrate recorded the statements of Sunil Mathew, Sumanth, and Kiran Kumar from DNA Entertainment Private Limited. Balakrishna,the suspended assistant commissioner of police, Cubbon Park, also appeared before the magistrate.
According to sources, the former KSCA officials were questioned about the preparations for the celebrations and communications made with others, including police. The DNA staff submitted various documents related to the celebrations to the committee. The suspended ACP provided materials on the security aspects and related matters.
