Spain floods: Freak storm plunges holiday hotspots under filthy gushing water

Flash flooding has left multiple Spanish towns underwater following a freakish thunderstorm.

Spain has been rocked by heavy floods with roads having turned into rivers.

Dramatic footage from Catalonia shows cars completely submerged in water with some being swept away in the flash floods.

Residents living in the northeastern part of Spain were sent an emergency phone alert yesterday as Catalonia was under a red weather warning - the most extreme.
