Prince Harry is reportedly set to meet up with King Charles within weeks as he returns to the UK. The Duke of Sussex, 40, will be attending the Wellchild Awards on September 8 in his role as patron.
The prince's UK visit will be the first time since April, when he attended court hearings regarding his downgraded UK taxpayer-funded security - a case he lost. The visit also comes on the same day as the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's death, which Harry is likely to mark privately.
While a meeting between Harry, who quit royal life in 2020, and his father has not been officially confirmed, a US source told The Mirror that there is "now a determination on both sides to make this happen". Do you think King Charles should meet Prince Harry on his UK visit? Vote below or here.
The same source said to The Mirror: "For the first time in a long time, there's a genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach.
"Prince Harry's team and the Palace have opened a line of communication, and there is every hope that father and son will see one another when the Duke returns to London in September."
Harry, 40, last saw his father in February 2024 when the King announced he had been diagnosed with cancer.
The prince flew all the way from his Montecito home in California to see his dad in a meeting that lasted less than an hour.
They have not seen each other since, with Harry revealing to the BBC in May - after losing his court appeal regarding his UK security - that his father "won't speak" to him as a result of the court case.
It is not known whether this has since changed, especially as Harry and the King's aides were spotted having an informal meeting just weeks ago.
While Harry will be in the UK on September 8, Meghan Markle is not believed to be likely to join him.
Instead, the Duchess of Sussex will reportedly stay in California with the couple's children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
