Labour just made the UK a complete laughing stock - and it's making my blood boil

I'm at a loss for words - the shame and embarrassment I feel for Britain right now has reached a new high. We are an absolute laughing stock. A prison "mistakenly" released a migrant sex offender, Hadush Kebatu, back onto the streets, who then persuaded the pathetically weak Home Office to give him a £500 payout.

If the UK can't deport a foreign national convicted of sexual offences without being extorted for hush money, then it's no longer being run by the Government - it's being run by sex-offending criminals who refuse to leave unless paid. There is a 14-year-old child and a woman already suffering the horrific, lifelong consequences of assault. Where is their money? Where is the £500 that should have gone to the victims who endured a life-changing crime?

Instead, that £500 was handed to their abuser to stop him throwing a tantrum before boarding a plane.

Kebatu wandered around London for two days with an avocado tote bag, claiming he had tried to hand himself in, and was later arrested. Despite appearing on national television and insisting he had told police he'd been wrongly released, he threatened to lodge an asylum claim to block deportation - and the Home Office essentially negotiated with him.

Instead of showing any form of backbone and treating a criminal-illegal-migrant-sex offender like a criminal-illegal-migrant-sex-offender, the Government caved at the first threat.

He should've been physically forced on the plane, handcuffed, restrained, and removed from the country without room for negotiation. But no.

He was flown back to Ethiopia on Tuesday night with "no right to return" - though he never had the right to be here in the first place - and £500 of spending money in his pocket. For all we know, that £500 could help fund another Channel crossing back to the UK.

Policing minister Sarah Jones said it "sticks in the throat" that Kebatu was given half a grand to secure his return. It doesn't just stick in the throat; it makes my blood boil. He sexually assaulted a child and a woman. He is a criminal and should have been forcibly removed without a penny changing hands.
