Manchester United will be looking to build on their 2-1 triumph over Chelsea last weekend, hoping it sparks a revival in their season. Having already been eliminated from the Carabao Cup and not participating in European football this season, Ruben Amorim's squad will have enjoyed a week's rest before they face Brentford on Saturday.
The Premier League showdown at the Gtech Community Stadium comes hot on the heels of an exhilarating victory at Old Trafford, courtesy of goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro. United capitalised on having an extra player after Blues' goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was shown an early red card, with Casemiro himself being dismissed just before half-time.
Securing another three points this weekend would provide a much-needed boost for Red Devils' boss Amorim amidst ongoing speculation about his potential dismissal. Here, Express Sport takes a look at the latest news surrounding United...
Harry Kane could return for a bargain price
Harry Kane might make a comeback to the Premier League next summer due to a supposed secret clause in his contract. The England skipper moved to Bayern Munich two years ago and is contracted until June 2027
However, German publication Bild suggests that Kane could be available for a reduced fee of £56.7million next year, provided he notifies Bayern of his intention to depart before the January transfer window closes. Such a request would be unexpected given Kane's successful integration in Bavaria, where he has won the first trophies of his career and already netted eight times this season.
A return to the Premier League after the 2026 World Cup could see Kane, who will be 33 at that point, challenge Alan Shearer's record as the all-time leading goal scorer in England's top flight.
Despite Ruben Amorim's overhaul of his attacking line-up with Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, Manchester United, who have previously shown interest in Kane, might be eager to secure the services of the former Spurs star. However, they could face competition from Tottenham due to their first-option agreement when they facilitated Kane's move to Germany in 2023.

Ruben Amorim replacement throws hat in the ring
Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt boss Dino Toppmoller has confessed his desire to take over at Manchester United. The 44-year-old head, known for his successful stint in the Bundesliga, which included a Champions League qualification, is gaining recognition in Germany.
Premier League enthusiasts may recognise him as the coach who brought out the best in Omar Marmoush and Hugo Ekitike, both of whom secured lucrative moves to the English top flight this year. Toppmoller hinted he wouldn't refuse a move to United if offered Amorim's position.
"Basically, it's a dream to be at Eintracht now," he said. "It's simply a fantastic club. Here, as a teenager, I witnessed for the first time that my father was a Bundesliga coach. That naturally creates an emotional bond with a club.
"Thinking about abroad, I often played computer games as a child, always with one team: Manchester United. That would definitely be nice someday, because it's an extraordinary club.
"When I was a teenager, Manchester United was, along with Real Madrid, the biggest club of all."
The boss turned down a lucrative proposal to join Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad during the summer transfer window.
He already knows Manchester well, should he succeed the struggling Amorim at Old Trafford, having joined Manchester City on loan in 2001 - although he failed to make a single appearance for the club.
