Sofia Qureshi's connection with the army is not new. Her grandfather was a religious teacher in the Indian Army, while her father Taj Mohammad Qureshi was posted as a Subedar in the BSF. Not only this, her great-grandmother was a part of Rani Lakshmibai's army in the 1857 freedom struggle. Bravery seems to be in her blood.

According to reports, Colonel Sofia got married to Colonel Tajuddin Bagewadi in 2015, who is an officer in the Mechanized Infantry. Both are serving the country shoulder to shoulder in the Indian Army. Currently Sofia is posted in Jammu.
