A woman decided to spruce up her bathroom by painting some stripes on it, and people were flabbergasted by the end results. Serena Neel joked she knew her minimalist husband would love it if she madea "green striped bathroom," and so she got to work with her method.

She admitted in a TikTokvideo she didn't "really know how to do this," saying: "I feel like if you just put stripes on the wall and paint over it, you get a striped wall," claiming she was going to use tape. Serena then joked: "What could go wrong?" because she was using a laser level on a tripod.

After she placed the first piece of tape down, she asked herself whether she should do stripes on the ceiling, but decided against it.

She placed one piece of tape on the wall and joked: "So far, so good." Serena then said she was going to use a width of tape, and then place another piece of the green tape that distance apart so the stripes would all be even.

When all the tape was up on the walls, she shared it took "over four hours" and she used "over three and a half rolls of tape," so it was a big commitment.

Before she started painting, she commented on how "cool" it looks - and it was only going to get better when she actually painted the room properly.

She explained she was going to do the first coat with the paint colour the wall already was, because she said "it will bleed everywhere".

Serena painted over the whole wall, including the tape, saying if it bleeds, you won't notice it.

She then poured out the new colour, which was a light sage green she described as "so cute". However, she did admit she hadn't swatched it, so said she hoped she liked it.

Serena poured it out, put it on the wall, and gushed: "It's so pretty". She then proceeded to paint the whole wall, and it was a gorgeous green.

"I'm gonna use the makeup brush on the corners, because I thought I had another paintbrush, but I don't," she shared, as she painted around the light switch.

Once the paint was done, she admitted she was "nervous," but proceeded to peel off the tape, and her vision came together.

Then after all the tape was pulled off, she said she "loved it," saying she thought it "looks so cute".

Serena then added the finishing touches to the bathroom, adding reed diffusers and towels, saying it looked "super cool".

In the comments, one woman said the lines were "perfect," claiming it was "five stars" and they "love it".

Someone else said she made it look "effortless". "Holy s***, it looks so cute," another added, with somebody joking: "Why are you painting? Just leave the tape - it’s green. It’s stripes!"
