Former Loose Women panelist Andrea McLean is said to be planning a new life abroad. The speculation comes just months on from her teasing that she would "seize the day" moving forward after having "nearly died" last year.
Andrea, 55, who was on the ITV show from 2007 to 2020, announced in February that she had been hospitalised due to severe pneumonia, acute kidney injury and sepsis after having flu-like symptoms in December. More recently, she told fans that she was "feeling really good" amid recovering.
Amid her recovery following the experience, one of her business ventures came to an end. The business, once known as This Girl Is On Fire, was dissolved in February.
Andrea, who launched lifestyle and wellness brand This Girl Is On Fire after leaving Loose Women, is now said to be focusing on her writing career as she seeks a fresh start. The Sun has reported that she's preparing to relocate to Spain.
A source told the outlet: "It's been a tough couple of years and the business never financially recovered. Andrea made the decision to dissolve the business officially earlier this year."
They added that she's now preparing for a "new life" abroad with her husband Nick Feeney, whom she married in 2017. Andrea's family also includes her two children from previous relationships.
The source said that after her health issue she's "focused on what really matters", citing family and friends. They said: "She's in a really good place, positive, loved up with Nick still, her kids are all grown up so she's happy and making life work for her."
Andrea previously shared that her hospitalisation had made her re-evaluate her life. She said in an interview that was published in April: "There are rarely second chances in this life, so as I began to regain my strength I knew I had to seize the day and focus on what I really want to do."
She added: "I very nearly died." Andrea continued at the time by saying: "That scary, horrible moment was a turning point, it has led to now and I am feeling really positive about where I am going."
The interview came after she shared the previous month that she had ended up in hospital after collapsing at home. She later said: "I didn't realise how severe my illness was at the time. But the doctors had told my husband, Nick, that had I not got to hospital when I did, had we waited another 24 hours to call for help, I may not be here now."
Andrea, who revealed that she was diagnosed with pneumonia and sepsis, said that she was in and out of hospital throughout January. It was later announced that she had been back weeks later after she "fainted" at home, with her telling fans at the time that she had got out of bed "too fast".
More recently though, Andrea shared in March that she was "feeling really good" amid recovering from the experiences. She said: "It has been quite a long recovery process but I've slowed down my pace of life and I'm feeling really good."
