Determined was faced with coughing up a huge sum of money to after they reunited.
The co-stars were on for the first time on-screen since the Amazon Prime series ended in 2024 and it proved to be a costly meet up for Jeremy. In the latest episode of Clarkson’s Farm, he invited the former Top Gear presenter to Diddly Squat and he needed his help with a big task.
Viewers were told how he travelled “hundreds and hundreds of miles away from civilisation” to visit Richard in a small Herefordshire village to secure his car restoration services - but they don't come cheap. Jeremy required a chrome tractor to suspend from the ceiling of his new pub, The Farmer’s Dog.

Richard detailed the reality of the situation, explaining that it would cost around £20,000. Clarkson asked him: “Are we talking hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands?” as Richard replied: “Tens of thousands.” : “Why didn’t you tell me off before I set off that it was going to be more than the GDP of most European countries?” as Richard responded: “Then you wouldn’t have come.”

Jeremy went on to ask his pal if he would have charged “a normal farmer” the same amount for the work, and Richard joked: “What normal farmer would chrome his tractor?” Jeremy said he was “forced to agree” to the terms as the pub was just five weeks away from opening – and was desperate to bring his idea to life. He transformed the former rural pub The Windmill in Asthall into The Farmer’s Dog – after his other co-star James May launched his own pub in Wiltshire back in 2014.
Richard’s official renovation business The Smallest Cog shared a post from the episode, writing on : “Catch our little cameo in season four episode six of Clarkson’s Farm - Richard Ham (the man not the pig) gives Jeremy a helping hand. Next time you’re at the Farmer’s Dog, have a glimpse up to the ceiling and check out the chrome tractor. In hindsight, we should’ve written something rude underneath. Or left a business card.”
It comes as Jeremy hit back at customers grumbling about the £24 price tag on his pub's steak pie, cheekily retorting: "Enjoy your chlorine". The star of Clarkson's Farm, 65, has insisted on paying 'premium' prices for top-quality local beef for the pies served up at The Farmer's Dog, the pub showcased in the Amazon series.
Never one to shy away from a debate, Clarkson fired back: "Have you seen beef prices right now? If you could make it for less, I'll give you a job." In response to another query, "Your cows aren't they Jeremy?" Clarkson clarified: "Some are. Most come from other farmers in the area and we pay a premium. We are here to back British farming. If you don't want to do that, fine. Enjoy your chlorine."
