Liverpool new boy Jeremie Frimpong claims his time at Anfield is going to be "extra fun" after he was joined by Florian Wirtz - who has shattered the British transfer record by moving to Merseyside.
Frimpong was the the Premier League champion's first summer signing after moving from Bayer Leverkusen. He was bought in to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who headed for Real Madrid, with the Reds activating his release clause.
The right-back came through the ranks at Manchester City and had impressed at Celtic before Leverkusen came calling. He formed part of the side that produced a stunning season to win the Bundesliga with Wirtz also part of Xabi Alonso's outfit.
Liverpool's recruitment drive has now seen them land the playmaker, regarded as one of Europe's most exciting prospects. He's joined in a £116million deal and will continue his relationship with Frimpong.
Alexander-Arnold's replacement already had some home comforts at Liverpool with Dutch colleagues Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo all on the club's books. But now he's even more thrilled to have Wirtz's company.

He told ESPN: "I'm really excited. I'm really looking forward to playing with Liverpool. And of course, Florian Wirtz, my good friend, he's coming too. That makes it extra fun. I also already know some guys from the national team. So yeah, I'm really up for it. I can't wait for it to start."
Frimpong has big shoes to fill at Liverpool with Alexander-Arnold becoming one of the world's best at right-back. He will need to provide quality in the final third, where Wirtz will also expected to make an impact at the Reds continue to bolster their title-winning side.
Wirtz's arrival was confirmed this week and he believes now is the right time to make the jump to Liverpool. He said: "I just thought that it was the right point in my career to make the next step and of course I wanted to get to a club that is from the top three in the world, and in my opinion Liverpool was one of them."
Liverpool's summer spending isn't over with Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez on their radar. A £40m deal is understood to be close and personal terms with the Hungarian are expected to be smooth. The transfer is believed to be a matter of when, rather than if.
