Gigi Hadid has made a very rare comment about her ex-boyfriend, Zayn Malik. The former golden couple dated for six years between 2015 and 2021 andhave rarely spoken about one another since their split.
But now, model Gigi has shared an insight into their relationship after their daughter, Khai, who recently celebrated her fifth birthday. After Gigi took to social media to share a string of snaps from Khai's day, she later confirmed that Zayn was involved in the celebrations.
Captioning her upload, Gigi, 30, wrote: "Celebrating you is the Best Day Ever, every year. Happy 5th Birthday to the light of my life! You are truly everything. So lucky & proud to be your mama!!!!!!! (p.s. 5 HOW ?!?)."

Her upload, which has been liked over two million times was soon flooded with messages from fans who also couldn't believe that little Khai was five.
One fan penned: "Wish, her dad would also be there..." To which Gigi responded: "She was with us both on her birthday!!" Fans couldn't contain their excitement over Gigi's admission, with one responding: "Aww that's so cool, lots of love to you and your beautiful family." "OMG," exclaimed a second.
Meanwhile, many of Gigi's fans were overjoyed to see how "natural" Khai's fifth birthday party was. One wrote: "I love how natural it is, like a real kid's birthday. Allowing her to be a kid. It's really beautiful." Another responded: "I was thinking the same thing. Sometimes celebs/rich people can go overboard with kids' parties, so no wonder they grow up not being grateful and happy for anything big or small."

"Finally, a normal birthday celebration for a 5-year-old," typed a third. Another penned: "Happy birthday, Khai. It's so refreshing to see a celebrity have what looks like a normal 5-year-old party."
It comes months after Gigi opened up about how she and former One Direction star Zayn continue to co-parent their daughter together. Speaking to US Vogue, she said: "Zayn and I do our custody schedules months in advance."
She went on to say that the former couple plan their weeks with Khai to fit their own schedules, but often help one another out if something unexpected crops up for either of them. She explained: "That doesn't mean that it doesn’t change here and there, but we help each other out and have each other's backs."
But while their romantic relationship is firmly in the past, the pair has now entered a different stage of their relationship with one another. Instead, they now have "love, and a feeling of camaraderie."
However, they still maintain their privacy but know that their former romance will forever be under the glare of fans across the world due to their high-profile jobs. This is something Gigi struggles with, admitting it's hard as people will often think they "know everything."
She told the outlet: "At the end of the day, we're not interested in giving everyone our whole story. What we are interested in is raising our daughter together, with so much respect for each other, and not just as co-parents, but what we've been through together."
