Piers Morgan has shared a poignant message for Dermot Murnaghan in the wake of the Sky News journalist's cancer diagnosis. The former Eggheads presenter, 67, shared his Stage IV advanced prostate cancer diagnosis on social media on Monday, telling his followers he was "responding positively" to treatment and "feeling well".
In a thread of tweets, the broadcaster wrote on Twitter (X): "Some personal news……I’ve been diagnosed with Stage IV advanced prostate cancer I’m fortunate to have a simply outstanding medical team looking after me, who I can’t thank enough - they are administering the best possible care with expertise, compassion and sensitivity.
"I’m responding positively to their excellent treatment, and feeling well. I’m blessed to be fortified by the monumental love and support of my wife, family and close friends."

The Sky News presenter went on to urge other men to get tested and revealed his plans to take part in a charity bike ride. "Needless to say my message to all men over 50, in high risk groups, or displaying symptoms, is get yourself tested and campaign for routine prostate screening by the NHS," Murnaghan warned his fans.

Former Good Morning Britain anchor Piers Morgan was one of the first to respond to Murnaghan's shock announcement, telling his fellow broadcaster: "Very sorry to hear this, Dermot, I wish you all the best with your treatment."
Peter Cardwell, a Talk TV presenter, added: "Dermot, I am so sorry to see this news. You are an outstanding broadcaster, a great person and as a colleague you have taught me so much -- even if you nicked my smoked salmon on the occasional Sunday morning at Sky Westminster! I am sending you and your family every good wish."
"Really sorry to hear that, Dermot. But of course, true to form, jumping straight on the bike - love that. Hope the ride goes well," Sky Breakfast editor Thomas Newton told the Sky News stars in the replies to his shock announcement.
Murnaghan replied: "Ha! I can’t take this lying down - I’m following @chrishoy ‘s example ( albeit at a hugely slower pace) Thanks Thomas."
Other messages of support for the star including Sky News colleague Ed Conway writing: "So sorry to hear this Dermot. Thank you for these tweets which will help raise awareness.
