Bryan Mbeumo 'very frustrated' by Man Utd transfer as Brentford star's coach breaks silence

Bryan Mbeumo is "very frustrated" by the length of time that it is taking Manchester United to agree a deal with Brentford - who are digging their heels in when it comes to the player's price.

Already the Red Devils have seen two bids for the forward rejected with the Bees wanting upwards of £60million before they consider cashing in. Mbeumo has just scored 20 times in the Premier League and could land a blockbuster move as a result.

Those in Manchester have not yet returned with a third bid and the transfer saga is threatening to drag on, which doesn't suit any party. Ruben Amorim has identified Mbeumo as the type of player who can massively improve the club's forward line.

Currently Matheus Cunha is the only man to head to Old Trafford this summer, leaving Wolves when his release clause was met. And Cameroon No 2, Ashu Cyprian Besong, has confessed that Mbeumo is particularly frustrated by how long the saga is beginning to drag on as he seeks to find a resolution over his future.

Besong told Telecom Asia: “Yes, obviously he’s very frustrated with how long it’s taken. But he’s a professional and anticipates these things. I spoke to him about a week ago and he is very calm with everything that is going on.

"But of course, he’s already told them he wants to go to United. He just wanted the two clubs to find an agreement, as he’s very grateful for the opportunity that he’s been given by Brentford in his career.”

Mbeumo stands to massively enhance his wages if he does move to United, who would pay him upwards of £200,000-a-week. Personal terms will not be an issue and it is now on the two clubs agreeing a fee. Brentford have previously sold their top talent, but only for the right price, and their director of football Phil Giles insists Mbeumo will stay at the club if their valuation is not met.

"He had a fantastic season," said Giles recently. "We expected big interest in him, we have had big interest in him. He has his ideas about where he wants to take his career. He is well within his rights to do that. It is not impossible he is still a Brentford player next season if we agree he is going to stay."

Giles also maintained that Mbeumo would only be sold if it was "the right deal" for Brentford. He claimed: "Any club will tell you that. If it's not right deal, why would we do it?"
