The development came amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan. In the early hours of Wednesday, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

India targeted Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror camps in Bahawalpur and Muridke, respectively. In the Bahawalpur strikes on Markaz Subhan Allah, JeM chief Masood Azhar's 10 family members and four close aides were killed. LeT headquarter in Muridke was also demolished.
