After the failure of his much-hyped film, Sikandar, superstar Salman Khan is reportedly in talks to play the lead in a film based on the clash that took place between India and China at the Galwan valley in 2020. While the film has not been officially announced yet, reports have it that the actor is mighty interested in the film.
According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, the film based on the Galwan valley clash will be helmed by filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia, and Bhaijaan seems to have liked the script. If he signs the dotted lines, Salman will be seen playing the lead in the war-based film.
The film will trace the events of June 2020 when Indian and Chinese troops clashed at the Galwan valley in Ladakh, resulting in the death of nearly 20 Indian soldiers. The incident escalated the tensions between India and China, and it was also the first time in 45 years that shots were fired along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The report stated that Lakhia is ready to dive into the pre-production work of the film as soon as Salman gives his confirmation. It will be reportedly produced by the actor's own production house, Salman Khan Films.
For those unversed, Lakhia is known for helming films like Shootout at Lokhandwala, Mission Istaanbul, and Zanjeer.
Salman returned to the theatres earlier this year after 1.5 years with his highly-anticipated Eid release, Sikandar, which also marked his first collaboration with Ghajini director AR Murugadoss. However, the film fell flat in its face and failed to impress the audience.
Post the debacle, Salman reportedly met with his select fans and interacted with them to know the general opinion of the audience about the kind of films they want him to do.
Post Sikandar's failure, Salman has not announced his next project, and fans of the actor are eagerly waiting for a strong comeback.
