Srinagar: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. He reached Srinagar and met army personnel and army officers. During this, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha was also present with him.
Singh reached the headquarters of Chinar Corps and took stock of the security situation. This visit is his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and Indian armed forces retaliation, Operation Sindoor. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited Adampur Airbase in Punjab and met the Air Force personnel and boosted their morale.
Addressing the soldiers of Indian army at Badami Bagh Cantonment, Singh tweaked a popular dialogue by Amitabh Bachchan from one of his movies, ‘Kalia‘. ‘Pakistan jahan khada ho jata hai wahin see maangne walon ki line shuru hoti hai…’ the Defence Minister said, which roughly translates to, “Wherever Pakistan stands, the line of beggars starts from there."

He also emphasised that Pakistan's nuclear weapons should be placed under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Singh lauded the Indian Armed Forces for the success of Operation Sindoor, which was launched to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
The Defence Minister said, "I feel proud to be here among you amid such adverse conditions. The entire nation is proud of whatever you all did during Operation Sindoor, under the able leadership and guidance of PM Narendra Modi. Before being your Defence Minister, I am an Indian citizen. Besides being the Defence Minister, I am here to express gratitude to you as an Indian citizen."
