The holy month of Sawan is going on. In this, people worship Lord Shiva. Shiva devotees please their Bholenath and attain wealth, happiness, prosperity etc. During this time, Lord Vishnu is sleeping, but his devotees also observe a fast and worship him. There is a popular belief that the devotees of Lord Bholenath are rich, even though he is a sanyasi, while the devotees of Lakshmipati, Lord Narayana, are poor, even though he has Mata Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. After all, how is it the opposite? Why is it so? Let's know about it.

Lord Shiva's devotees are rich.
According to mythology, when Kuber pleased Lord Shiva with his penance, he made Kuber the Dhanpati of this whole universe. Kuber had immense wealth and property. He became a rich man from a poor man. His step-brother Ravana also worshipped Mahadev, pleased Mahadev with his penance, and became the king of golden Lanka. He also had no shortage of happiness and prosperity. By the grace of Shiva, the devotees of Mahadev are filled with wealth and prosperity.
Mata Parvati makes Shiva devotees rich.
It is said that Lord Shiva is always in one form, and Mata Parvati is in his service. When a devotee worships Lord Shiva, Mata Parvati is very happy. She is Goddess Annapurna. She is Adishakti. She becomes happy and makes the devotees of Lord Shiva rich with wealth, prosperity, and opulence.
Mata Lakshmi becomes angry with Vishnu devotees.
On the other hand, when the devotees of Lord Vishnu worship their Lord Shri Hari. They please him with their devotion, then Mata Lakshmi becomes angry with them. When a person worships Lord Vishnu, then Mata Lakshmi looks at him with a sidelong eye.
This is the reason why Vishnu devotees become poor.
Shri Hari is the beloved of Mata Lakshmi, who resides in her heart, and the devotee also worships Lord Vishnu with a beloved feeling. Because of this, Goddess Lakshmi looks at that devotee with a sideways glance; in such a situation, wealth, happiness, prosperity, all vanish from that person. Lakshmi does not bless him.
On this context, the famous saint of Vrindavan, Premanand Ji Maharaj says that when Vishnu devotees worship Shri Hari, then Goddess Lakshmi looks at them with a sideways glance, whereas when Shiva devotees worship Bholenath, then Mother Jagadamba looks at them with kindness, compassion and affection. This is the reason that Shiva devotees are blessed with all kinds of comforts and facilities and the devotees of Lord Vishnu lack these.
