Often, we crave something light and tasty with our evening tea, and most people buy bread or pav from the market. But did you know that homemade pav is not only fresher but also healthier? Bread sold outside is often laden with preservatives and chemicals, whereas homemade bread allows you to use healthy ingredients of your choice. Today, we're sharing a simple and quick recipe for making soft, fluffy, and tasty pav at home.
First, add 1 cup of lukewarm milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of yeast to a large bowl. Mix thoroughly and let it sit for 10 minutes to activate the yeast. When the mixture begins to foam, add 2 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of oil, and a little salt. Gradually add water or milk and knead into a soft dough. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour so it doubles in size. This step is the most important part of making the bread soft.
After an hour, the dough will be ready. Now knead it again lightly and place it in a bread mold or baking tray. Brush it with a little oil and cover it again for 15–20 minutes to set. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180°C. Once the bread is set, place it in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes. When the bread turns a light golden color, it is perfectly baked.
If you don't have an oven, you can also make it in a pan or cooker. Simply sprinkle a layer of salt on the bottom, place a stand, and place the bread mold on it. Close the lid and cook on low heat for 35–40 minutes. Check occasionally to ensure the bread doesn't burn on the bottom. Once cooked, let it cool and then gently remove it from the mold. Apply a little butter on top, which will make the bread even softer. If you wish, you can make it even healthier by adding multigrain flour, oats, or brown flour.
These loaves are perfect for breakfast with butter or jam, or as a teatime snack. The best part about homemade bread is that it contains no preservatives, so it can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. So, the next time you crave something tasty with tea, instead of buying a loaf from outside, try this quick recipe at home. With just a few ingredients and in a short time, you'll have soft, fresh, and healthy homemade loaves that everyone will say, "Wow, this is even better than the ones from the market."
