Shah Rukh Khan, currently busy filming his upcoming action drama King, briefly stepped away from the film set over the weekend and found himself making headlines again—this time not for his stardom, but for his pet dog. In a video that quickly circulated online, the actor was seen enjoying a Sunday drive in Mumbai, his dog comfortably seated on his lap as they rode in a white Rolls-Royce accompanied by a fleet of security vehicles.
The actor, dressed casually in a white T-shirt, sunglasses, and a beanie, looked relaxed as he peeked out of the car window with his furry companion. Fans and paparazzi quickly gathered to capture the moment. However, as soon as Shah Rukh noticed the cameras and crowd, he rolled up the windows and shut the curtains for privacy.
Despite the fleeting glimpse, the short interaction sparked a wave of online reactions, with many users expressing their admiration for the adorable dog. Comments poured in calling the pup “cute” and referring to the duo as “two cuties in one frame.” This isn’t the first time Shah Rukh’s pet has drawn attention; the dog previously made headlines during a family trip back from Alibaug, cradled lovingly in his arms.
Temporary Move Away from Mannat
Shah Rukh’s latest outing also came amid a temporary relocation. With major renovation work underway at his iconic sea-facing home Mannat, the Khan family has moved to rented luxury duplexes in Pali Hill, Khar West. The apartments, leased from the Bhagnani family, reportedly cost approximately Rs 24 lakh a month combined and come with hefty security deposits. The Mannat renovation, said to include modern upgrades and new floors, is expected to take up to a year to complete. Gauri Khan, who is overseeing the redesign, shared that the revamped home—referred to as “Mannat 2.0”—is well underway.
All Eyes on ‘King’
Professionally, Shah Rukh Khan is preparing to return to the big screen in King, a high-octane project directed by Siddharth Anand, with whom he last worked in Pathaan. The film also stars Suhana Khan in a key role, marking one of her biggest cinematic appearances so far. Abhishek Bachchan is expected to play the antagonist, and other names associated with the film include Jaideep Ahlawat, Saurabh Shukla, and reportedly Deepika Padukone and Rani Mukerji.
While speaking at an event in Dubai earlier this year, Shah Rukh refrained from revealing much about the film, citing his director’s strict stance on secrecy. He only shared that audiences could expect solid entertainment. The project is currently under production in Mumbai, with Shah Rukh juggling shoots alongside his temporary domestic shift.
