At 38, Novak Djokovic continues to defy age and is still showing no signs of stopping. As the new crop of tennis players like Carlos Alcaraz take the court by storm, Novak is the last of the golden generation. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have called it a day, but the Serbian is still marching forward. The end is near but it is not here yet.
Novak Djokovic Inching Closer to US 2025 TitleOnce again Djokovic showed that even now way past his prime, he was a danger on the court. In the US Open 2025 quarterfinal he made light work of Taylor Fritz who is from the USA. Djokovic dispatched him in four sets and the scoreline was 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4. He will now play Alvarez in the semis.

This win also means Djokovic is just two wins away from a 25th Grand Slam. He has not won a Grand Slam since 2023 when he lifted the US Open title. The Serbian will be aiming to end the title drought. But standing between him and a place in the final is Alcaraz and that will be Djokovic’s biggest challenge.
Novak Djokovic Is a Man of RecordsThis victory at the US Open 2025 quarters also meant that Djokovic entered a record 53rd Grand Slam semifinal. He has won four titles here and will want to make it five. 24 Grand Slams is a big deal and it is more special if more are added to the tally. That is what Djokovic will want to do before he calls time on his playing career.

Fritz lost in the US Open 2024 final. His exit means that the USA's drought without a male singles champion will continue. Djokovic came out with a purpose to dominate and turned back the clock in grand style to overcome an opponent who is over 10 years younger than him. Fritz turns 28 in late October.
Novak Djokovic in the Twilight of His CareerThe legendary Djokovic is in the twilight of his career. Any match could be his last as the retirement announcement could come either this year or the next, nobody knows for sure. So while he is still playing it is important to enjoy him on the court. A combination of grace and power is what leaves fans in awe when he steps on the court and delivers.

The man is called the GOAT for a reason and time and again Djokovic has proved that he is not Federer, not Nadal but in a class of his own. He is something we have never seen before and shall never see again on the tennis court. He is defying age and proving it to be no more than a number.
Will Novak Djokovic win US Open 2025? Not impossible but it will be challenging. If he does, it shall be another feather in the cap for the Serbian. Even if he does not, it shall in no way tarnish his greatness. Djokovic has revolutionised tennis into something different and for that the fans are grateful. When the time does come for Djokovic to step into the sunset and leave the court forever, he shall have left a legacy that will be a benchmark for future players to aspire to.
